The Masjidbaria mosque is the oldest mosque in Patuakhali district. You can see this mosque at Mosjidbari village of Mirzaganj upazila. The main room of this mosque with a one-domed structure is built in a square. The width of the wall of the mosque is about 6 feet 6 inches. In the western wall of the interior you will find 5 mihrabs. There are three entrance paths on the eastern wall. There are 3 entrances to the north and south sides. The verandah can be seen in the mosque. According to an inscription of the mosque, Khan-i-Maayzam Uzial Khan built the religious building in 1465 during the reign of Sultan Rukn-ud-din Barbak Shah. During the construction, the mosque was ornamented with terracotta plaques.
